Friends of Flixton Gardens

This body of work is the outcome of a 4 month Collaborative Project working with a volunteer gardening group called ‘Friends of Flixton Gardens’.

The group are made of volunteers from the local area who every week maintain a public garden called Flixton Gardens.

During the 4 months I learnt how important the Gardens are to the volunteers and to the local community, as when I spoke to them about what they wanted out of the project they said that they just wanted to promote the group so that they could hopefully gain more volunteers. Due to this I then moulded the project to help showcase the difference that they make and to show the bond that the group have with each other.

At the end of this project I partnered with a friend of mine who was also doing a collaborative project within a local allotment to work together to create an exhibition to exhibit both of our projects. The exhibition taken place In Urmston Library on the 10th of May 2023.

I also created a book for this project what contains the photos from the project and also a section where I asked some of the volunteers questions about the group.
